My husband, Bernard Geestman, has been a member for many years. Back in 1997
our daughter Desiree (10 yrs old) was diagnosed with cancer and then later
passed away of cancer two years later. It was her dream to help other children
with cancer, so a group of us formed a foundation - The
Desi Geestman Foundation. The Desi Geestman Foundation is a non-profit 501c3
organization that provides financial and emotional support to families with a
child (or children) suffering from cancer. The foundation is now 7 years old and
has been helping hundreds of families.
It would help us tremendously if our extended family of Local 33 would unite
