Call to Action.

As you have heard, our collective advocacy to preserve federal arts funding has protected countless IATSE member jobs and we need your help again.

Tell Congress to Invest in Arts & Entertainment Jobs

Last year, we fought back against the Trump administration’s proposed elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) – two federal agencies that support arts and entertainment jobs across the country.

IA members sent thousands of letters to Congress, called their representatives, and our own International President Loeb had dozens of in-person meetings with our congressional representatives, and ultimately, we won. Despite a political environment where, at a minimum, decreased funding seemed likely, Congress passed a bipartisan bill that maintained the previous funding level of $207 million each for the NEA and NEH.

Right now, Congress is determining next year’s funding for the agencies. We are once again asking IATSE members and allies to contact your members of Congress and urge them to sign the arts appropriations request letters supporting $213 million for the NEA and NEH in Fiscal Year 2027. The more IA members and representatives that sign these letters, the stronger our case becomes for increased arts funding and union jobs.

With your help we’ll continue building towards our goal of $1 per capita for federal arts funding.

Tell Congress to support $213 million for the NEA and NEH

Please share this campaign with your Local Union Leadership and membership by whatever communications vehicles your Local uses and ask them to contact their representatives in Congress. You can also amplify the International's posts on Facebook and Twitter/X from your Local Union or members' personal social media accounts.

On behalf of International President Loeb and Political Director Tyler McIntosh, we appreciate your attention and participation with signing on with the links above to support the arts appropriations helping thousands of IATSE members and their families across the country.

In Solidarity,

Darrell Aranda

Recording Secretary
