I wanted to check in with you about our Covid safety protocols and let you know that we plan to revise our Covid testing protocols for the remainder of the season, as follows: we will not require test-ins or weekly maintenance testing. If an employee or artist becomes symptomatic or has reason to believe they’ve been exposed to Covid, we will continue to arrange for Covid diagnostic testing. With the low community Covid levels in the LA area and the elimination of protocols from both the State of California and the County of Los Angeles we believe this is the right course of action. As you know, Covid testing has been a very significant expense and logistical complexity for us for the last year. Despite the financial and administrative burden, we kept in place robust testing for as long as we did because we believed it was the prudent way forward. As the Covid situation continues to improve, we now need to alleviate the Company of this substantial expense and both the Company and individuals of the inconvenience of regular testing.
We will be keeping in place the other cornerstones of our Covid safety plan, including mandatory Covid vaccinations and boosters, daily health check-ins, and masking in backstage and other production-related areas, including rehearsal rooms and the Costume Shop.
As always, we will continue to monitor the public health situation, and should local Covid transmission levels significantly increase or other relevant conditions or information change, we will revisit our testing protocols.
Thank you so much for your understanding and support, and please let me know if you have any questions or would like to meet to discuss.
Thank you,
Jill
