I wanted to say that I am very proud of everyone representing Local 33. we just finished the California Democratic National Convention at the Long Beach Convention Center. Frontrunner production’s was very pleased and thankful for the professionalism that local 33 provided. Long Beach management was also pleased with local 33. Once again 33 stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park, “L.A. Stage Call” who has the rigging contract there, didn’t want to finish the project that falls under their jurisdiction so we stepped in and provided the labor. this is what unionism and professionalism is about. LOCAL 33 is the premiere labor force in L.A. always has been and always will be.
L.A. Mayor Garcetti made an announcement during the convention that next year long Beach Convention Center will no longer be a NON-UNION house. This is great news for local 33. B/A Ron Valentine and I have been meeting with Long Beach councilmen/women and the Mayor Robert Garcia this year, and told us we are more then welcome to work in the city of Long Beach with any client. With the hard work of you, the membership I see a bright future once again for local 33 in Long Beach. B/A Valentine and I are going to work effortlessly to regain the work there.
Thank you once again for all your hard work and sleepless nights
