Because the Membership approved by referendum ballot, IATSE Local 33 has committed to set aside up to $1.5 million to help active and retired members who are receiving unemployment and have , or will become, ineligible for health care from the Plan because of loss of work due to COVID-19 pandemic. Effective February 1, 2021 Local 33 reimburse 75% of COBRA premiums or Covered California premiums to active or retired Members in accordance with the following eligibility requirements:
Eligibility Criteria for 75% Reimbursement of COBRA or Covered California Premiums
- You are an active or retired Member in good standing under IATSE Local’s 33’s constitution and bylaws; and
- You were enrolled in the IATSE Local 33 Health & Welfare Plan in March 2020: and
- You have submitted to IATSE Local 33 proof you received unemployment benefits for the period March1, 2020 through January 31, 2021; and
- You have submitted to IATSE Local 33 proof that you paid BPA full COBRA premiums, or that you paid in full Covered California premiums to the insurance plan you selected.
